Editors note: recent letters to both The Echo and The Pioneer have implied the community dialysis unit in Invermere was built in part with money raised by the local health care auxiliary groups.

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Invermere Health Care Auxiliary, I am writing to clarify that the auxiliary did not purchase or contribute funds towards the community dialysis unit located at the Invermere and District Hospital. It was paid for by the B.C. Renal Association.

We are in contact with Pauala James, head of renal health for Interior Health, in regard to our support in keeping the unit within our community.
