Thieves busy in the valley
Police have received approximately two to three reports of thefts from both the Fairmont and Columbia Lake road area. Items stolen included hand tools, power tools, gas, an older model boat motor and ATV.

On November 1 the Columbia Valley RCMP were advised of two hikers who had gone missing from the Kootenay Valley viewpoint along Hwy 93 in Kootenay National Park.
Man, 55, found deceased in river
Sadly, in the early afternoon the male was located deceased in the Vermillion River.

This past week, September 16 to 23, the Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 70 calls for service. The main event in the valley this week was the Radium ‘Show and Shine’.
Speeding driver impaired
On September 13 at approximately 8:30 p.m. police were conducting patrols in the Invermere area when a vehicle was observed driving at a high rate of speed and driving erratically.
Teen breaks leg in collision
On August 30 at approximately 2 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision between a dirt bike and a vehicle on Johnson Road where the teenage driver of the uninsured motorcycle suffered a broken leg.
Wind storm generated 19 calls
Of the 101 calls for service, 19 of them were generated due to the wind storm and subsequent power outages on Friday into Saturday morning.
Police respond to unclothed man yelling
The individual was agitated, yelling and threatening others in the area.
Driver nabbed for impaired
On July 24 police received a report of an impaired driver heading to Invermere from Panorama. Officers made patrols and located the vehicle and the female driver.
Bear spray used in attack
In the early hours of July 20, police responded to multiple calls of people being bear sprayed in downtown Invermere by an individual.
Autistic child wanders off, reunited with family
On July 8 police were called to a six-year-old child wandering on Highway 93/95 by himself.
