to those responsible for allowing several slash piles being burned last Saturday on the east side of Windermere Lake. The wind was blowing very hard all day and night and the huge burning piles went way into the night. Why cant these slash piles be opened to the public for a couple of weekends for those who collect wood for the winter and the remains be mulched and put to constructive use? My wood stove does not generate the risk of an out-of-control fire or the smoke pollution that these slash fires do!
