Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) ask for the public’s help in finding a missing man and his dog.

Martin Baker and his Pitbull cross, named Rosty, was last seen at his home in Wilmer on Tuesday, September 2, at 8 a.m. The duo was going on a walk. Usually, it lasts an hour.

The RCMP was reached in the afternoon when Martin and Rusty failed to return home. RCMP has activated CVSAR, and a search commenced throughout the evening yesterday. The investigation, which involved support from Cranbrook SAR and Kimberely SAR, is still in place.

Description of Martin Baker:

  • Caucasian man
  • 55 years old
  • 5 foot, six inches
  • brown hair
  • blue eyes

Last time Baker was seen, he was wearing a pair of blue jeans, a dark coloured baseball cap and glasses.

Investigators are probing a potential sighting of a dog near Bruce Creek Forest Service Road.
