Dear Editor:

It is never a good situation when a service is taken out of a community. The removal of the dialysis machine from the Invermere and District Hospital places an added burden on patients as well as their families. This valley is working hard to attract new residents as well as tourists. It does our health care image no favour when we appear to be removing rather than improving these amenities.

Our auxiliary will also be in contact with Paula James, head of renal health for Interior Health, in support of retaining this unit.

Margaret Bashnick

President, Windermere Health Care Auxiliary
