Dear Editor:
My compliments to the District of Invermere for pursuing the idea of a long-awaited multipurpose public building. As an Invermere taxpayer, I would also like to thank the council for working hard to consider costs to us at every turn.
The Fitness Centre is a self-funding organization. While beloved, the library is not. To plan to incorporate the library in a second, more economically stable phase seems sound.
I would like to point out that it is wrong to state that this council has not contacted all stakeholders.
Beyond the inaccuracy of recent letters to the editor, it is very damaging to become an actor in a public forum by attacking Council and the Valley Fitness Centre.
It does not ingratiate itself in negotiations.
