The David Thompson Secondary School (DTSS) Lakers senior soccer team won the Kootenay Zone championship on October 30th in Trail and are heading to Vancouver from November 22nd to 25th to represent the region at the provincial AA senior soccer championships.

The Lakers dominated the entire season, winning every tournament they participated in with 43 goals scored and only conceding three goals all season long. In the Kootenay Zone finals, they beat Kimberley 4-0 in the semi-final (goals scored by Aidan Knuckey, Kyle Pitt, Brody Gray and Liam Haynes), and won 2-0 against Trail in the final (goals by Chase Striegel and Valentin Fischer).
