Dear Editor:
With respect to the historical picture on page 6 of the April 3rd issue, I wish to advise that the person putting on the green is my grandfather, William Walter Taynton. This picture was taken by Ernie Fisher and it would be almost on the sight of where the old CPR building is now.
I never did ask him if he made the putt, but am sure he did. I am impressed with the dress code of golfers in that time.
Really enjoy these old photos in the paper.
