Submitted by Columbia Valley Nordic Collaboration

Three of the biggest names in cross country skiing in the Columbia Valley have come together with the vision of attracting more cross country skiers to the region. Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club, Nipika Mountain Resort and Panorama Mountain Village have formed the Columbia Valley Nordic Collaboration (CVNC.)

The Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club says that one of the prime objectives of the collaboration is to “ have more cross country skiers skiing more often amongst all three destinations.” Another key objective is to support and grow the sport of cross-country locally and regionally. Together the three entities will be launching the first-ever Tri-Area Nordic Season Pass which will provide a membership to the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club with unlimited skiing access to all three cross-country trail systems. The combined distance of the Whiteway, Lake Lillian, Nipika and Panorama cross country trails are well in excess of over 100 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails. “The Tri-Area Nordic Ski Pass offers a wonderful variety of trails as well as over 100+ days of skiing,” says Lyle Wilson of Nipika. “It’s wonderful to see Toby Creek Nordic Club, Panorama and ourselves working closely together.”

Plans are underway for cross country skiers to view real-time grooming reports for all three cross country trail systems using the app-based nordic grooming site Nordic Pulse. “Having up to date trail and weather conditions will give skiers the information they need to make best decision of where to ski that day,” adds Guy Paulsen of Panorama Mountain Village.

The CVNC Tri-Area Nordic Pass is on sale now through The Toby Creek website.
