Dress up in your Halloween costumes and go in search of monsters hidden in the storefronts of participating businesses and organizations from Oct. 28 to Oct. 31 for a chance to win one of three gift cards valued at $50 from a participating business.

“Event organizers this year have again re-imagined Halloween festivities with fun, socially distanced activities for the whole family. Due to COVID-19, the downtown businesses will not be handing out Halloween candy this year as an event. Instead, friendly little monsters will be taking over downtown Invermere,” said Invermere leisure services manager, Courtney Pitts. “This fun event is recommended for children and their families. While you are searching for monsters, remember to shop local and support the small businesses of downtown Invermere. We hope you join in on the fun adorned in your spookiest attire.”

During your hunt throughout downtown Invermere, jot down the name of each business at which you saw a monster on the official Monsters Mash scavenger hunt sheet. Once your hunt is accomplished, you can either scan your hunt sheet and email it to [email protected] or drop it off at any participating business before Nov. 1.

Spooky sleuths and dressed-up detectives who manage to pinpoint at least 10 monsters will be entered into a draw to win one of three $50 gift certificates from participating businesses. If you can track down 20 of those tricky hidden monsters, you’ll be entered twice into the draw. Another way to boost your chance of winning is to take a photo while you’re out monster hunting and then post them on social media under the tag #InvermereBcEvents.

For more information and to print Monster Mash Scavenger Hunt sheets, visit the Invermere BC Event Facebook page or any participating businesses, or stop by the Columbia Valley Centre lobby.
