A West Coast DJ with an international reputation will be making an appearance at Buds Bar and Lounge in Invermere on Saturday, March 30th. The weekly resident DJ for one of Whistlers top night clubs, Mat the Alien has also held down a bi-weekly club residency in Las Vegas and toured the globe, performing at two Olympic Games, the X Games, and many of Canadas and the worlds largest festivals.

Its been a long awaited return for him and were stoked to have him back, said Marc Lefebvre with Love Givr Events. Marc is co-organizing the night with Buds as well as hitting the decks himself for the opening set.

Originally from England, Mat was exposed to music from an early age thanks to his fathers record store, but didnt start playing on turntables until 1988 when he attended an underground warehouse party for the first time. After moving to Whistler in 1995 to pursue his passion for snowboarding, Mats skills really began to shine and the rest is history. He now resides in Squamish.

This will be Mat the Aliens fourth performance in Invermere, and each time he has played, the renowned DJ has delivered a quality show and drawn big crowds, Marc said.

Hes the type of DJ who can play the crowd like no other, he said. He can read a crowd and he knows how to play it right, and its just going to be good times guaranteed when he comes out.

While Mat the Aliens music spans many genres, his style of heavy beats and bass lines with lots of turntable tricks thrown in for good measure keeps his sound consistent and the crowds keep coming back for more. Visit www.matthealien.ca or www.soundcloud.com/matthealien to hear his original tracks and remixes.

Tickets for the Invermere show scheduled to start at 10 p.m. can be purchased in advance for $10 at Syndicate Boardshop and Buds, or at the door for $15.
