Two vehicles and a semi truck pulling two flat bed trailers burn after a multiple-fatality collision on Highway 93 South in Kootenay National Park at approximately 3:05 p.m., MDT on July 22nd. Columbia Valley RCMP, national park staff, local fire and ambulance crews responded. The accident occured on a sharp corner near Olive Lake and the trailhead to Kindersley Pass. Road conditions were wet at the time of the accident. The driver of the semi truck escaped without injuries. The exact number of vehicle occupants nor their identities have been confirmed at this time. The accident caused the closure of Highway 93 South in both directions. The highway remained closed as of 8:15 p.m., July 22nd.
