Bruce passed away suddenly of natural causes on Saturday, August 18th in Windermere, BC. Bruce is also survived by his four siblings Sandee Parkin (Steve Tester), Don (Lucy), Janice Mitchell (Ken), and John (Jan). He survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces.

Bruce was a passionate man who loved to be in the mountains experiencing God’s creation. From Friday morning hockey to triathlons, Bruce was always active. He was an avid skier and accomplished hiker. Summers were spent hiking the Great Divide Trail, water skiing on Lake Windermere and enjoying various outdoor pursuits with his family. He was a passionate teacher and found great joy in coaching school basketball teams. Bruce relished the opportunity to lead groups of young people on mission trips around the world. He loved the Lord, he loved his wife, and he loved his family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to thank the first responders and neighbours that assisted at the scene.

A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Sunday, September 2nd at 3:00 pm at RockPointe Church – Bearspaw (255024 Lochend Rd., Calgary, AB). All are welcome to attend.

For those considering donations, causes close to Bruce’s heart were Samaritan’s Purse and the Great Divide Trail Association.
