It is with great sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Joan the evening of May 17, 2020.
Joan was born in Vancouver, BC and moved to the Columbia Valley (Spillimacheen) in 1944 with her new husband Arthur Galbraith where they lived until moving to Invermere in 2012.
Joan is pre-deceased by her husband Arthur. Joan is survived by her six children: Marie (Jim) Kaytor, Sheila (Wayne) Kraig, Paul (Andree) Galbraith, Dan Galbraith, Jeremy Galbraith, and Francine Galbraith; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Joan enjoyed gardening and was always making a bouquet of flowers for bridal showers, baby showers or weddings. Joan and Art were very involved in the Seniors Games (carpet bowling and floor curling as well as table tennis) having attended for twenty-five consecutive years.
We would like to express our appreciation to the staff of Columbia Gardens for their care for Joan the past six years. This made her final years very comfortable and worry-free.
The family plan to have a private Celebration of Life.
