Following Buddhist practice, Kim provides her own obituary below:
Thank you to the community that has been a great comfort and support during this time. Kim passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Left in the dust, her partner Tim Houk, mother Carol Parsons, sister Terry (Gord) Pratt, brother Dave (Dea) Parsanishi and nephews and niece. There to meet her, her dad Reno Parsons. She was deeply grateful for the ability to transition at the time and with the least suffering possible thanks to the Medical Assistance In Dying statute. The personal is truly the political.
There will be no funeral service as she will be returning to her beloved farm in the Upper Squamish Valley. In lieu of flowers she asked that everyone who knew her practice a random act of kindness on her behalf. She said she will catch you on the flip side.
