With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Sylvia (Grannie) on January 28th, 2020 with family by her side.
Born July 29, 1929 in Medicine Hat, AB to Alma and William King. She dedicated her life to her family and special needs people at Pynelogs, and made lifelong friends with both clients and co-workers. They remained a very special part of her life even after retirement. Her love of crocheting blankets and ponchos were special gifts for family and friends.
Sylvia is survived by her children, grandchildren and their families: Elaine (Rudy), Christine Caroline, Sonny, Mike (Joan), Johnathan, J.R., Chantelle, Darryl, Les (Michelle), Mike, Amanda, Ashley G, Mellissa, Audrey and Ashlee. Extended family Shane (Brenda), Wyatt, Alex, Sandy (Wayne), Dawson and Kaedy. Sylvia is also survived by her sister Norma Hempstock, many nieces, nephews, friends and everyone in the valley that knew her as “Grannie.”
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Invermere and District Hospital for the extra loving care they gave to Sylvia.
A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held in the spring.
