Sergeant W. Ron Overy, C.D. (Retired PPCLI), “Uncle Ron” to his friends, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 58, at his home in Invermere on Monday, July 19. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Heather, his son Jason (Nancy), sister Barbara (Cam), brothers Doug (Diane) and Ken, niece Stephanie, nephew Jeff (Tami) and faithful companion Brutus.

Ron will be remembered for his passionate love for family and friends, exceptional woodworking skills, and always having a warm smile and open heart for everyone he came in contact with.

A celebration of his life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Windermere District Branch 71 in Invermere, BC on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
