Allan Arthur Pohl

November 17, 1965 -
June 18, 2020

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan Pohl in West Kelowna, B.C. on June 18th, 2020 after a valiant battle that showed his inner strength and immense courage.
Allan was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Radium Hot Springs, B.C. as a teenager before relocating to West Kelowna in 2002.
Allan loved the outdoors and was happiest with a fishing rod in his hand. He was the epitome of a “gentle giant”, with a heart as big as he was. He was always ready to lend a hand and share a story or seven. Everywhere Allan went he always made friends along the way and anytime laughter was heard, you knew Allan was in the thick of it.
Allan adored his family, including his high school sweetheart and lifelong love of 30 years, Maria Pohl, as well as his two daughters whom he was incredibly proud of – Ashley and Natalie (Steve Collins).
He was predeceased by his father Arthur Pohl and will be greatly missed by his mother Anne Pohl, sister Angela (Scott) Thielen, brother Andrew (Shelley) Pohl, sister-in-law Jeanette (Roger) Magarian, nephews Austin Thielen and Curtis Magarian, nieces Lauren Thielen and Emma Magarian, his in-laws Karl and Gerta Broz, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and his work family at the City of West Kelowna. Everybody loved the “Big Guy”.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family event will be held on Friday, June 26th, 2020 with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation.
