Barbara Ellen Hoberg

Barbara was born on the 5th of October, 1943 in Trochu, Alberta. She lived a busy and interesting life; she had a successful career and enjoyed travelling around the world for work and pleasure. Barbara enjoyed her sports, playing softball, volleyball, curling, and she absolutely loved golfing! Retiring to Radium Hot Springs, BC in 1999, she was a well-respected member of the community. She was a member of The Rotary Club, Radium Hot Springs Seniors Club, and an integral part of the ladies golf community; most notably, with her friend Jan, Barbara founded the annual ladies tournament, formerly known as the Cracked Wheat Ladies Open, in 2000.
Barbara passed away peacefully in her Beaumont home on the 14th of May, 2019 at the age of seventy-five. She is fondly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Shannon McCann, and son-in-law, Doug Choptiany, her grandchildren, Shane, Andrew, Michael, Craige, Caleb, Alex, Hailey-Dawn, Brady, and Abby. Barbara is also survived and missed by her siblings, Mary, Ethel (Norm), Muriel, Lorna, Gerald (Helen), Dennis (Sylvia), Philip, and Helen (Rod), as well as her nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Lorne & Helen Hoberg, and two siblings, Arthur Hoberg and Mildred (Pete) Chekowski.
An open house style Celebration of Life will be held for Barbara on the 1st of July 2019 in Beaumont, Alberta from 4 pm onwards. If you would like further details and/or to send condolences you may email: [email protected] .
