Bowers, Almarie Margaret (Moreau)

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Almarie Margaret Bowers (Moreau) on July 28 2023.
Almarie was born on June 10, 1948 to Alex and Mary Moreau in Penetanguishene, Ontario. When she was a young adult she moved west to Banff and fell in love with the mountains. Almarie made many good friends on this adventure with many of whom she still kept in contact. Almarie then moved to British Columbia where she met, fell in love with and married Jim Bowers. They were married for 30 years until his untimely death in 2001. Almarie was a strong woman (drove across Canada with 3 small children!!) , a funny woman (never could resist a pun) and had a great love for meeting new people. Almarie had many different jobs, but her favourite was the one for which she volunteered ,the SPCA in Kelowna. She put her heart and soul into making sure those animals found the right home. Almarie’s passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of the people who loved her.

Almarie is survived by her children Susan(Roy) McMurter, Laurie(John) Turnbull; grandchildren Chris, Tucker, Josi, James and Jax; great-grandchild Wyatt; siblings Keith (Janice), Mary Lou, Greg, Elizabeth Ann (Rob), Mary Ellen (Rob) (Denise) and her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her dad and mom (Alex & Mary Moreau), husband Jim Bowers, son David Bowers and brother Ernest Moreau.
I would like to send a huge THANK YOU to the doctors, nurses, care aids and ambulance attendants who lovingly cared for our mom.
Your kindness was hugely appreciated.
