With great sadness the family announces the passing of Nikki Matthews at the Invermere District Hospital on Sunday, July 9th following a lengthy illness. Nikki was born in Victoria B.C. on January 26th, 1965.

In 1996 Nikki moved to Invermere where she met her best friend and partner, Randy Roesch. Nikki was always seeking new adventures and met each one with great passion and commitment. She also was an enthusiastic volunteer for many local organizations. Nikki loved cooking and baking and hiking the more remote valley trails with Randy and always a dog or two.

Nikki is survived by her partner Randy, her son Benjamin Belnavis, daughter Rachel Belnavis, brothers Kevin and Terry Matthews, sister Kimberley Matthews and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

There is no service planned at this time. Donations in Nikki’s name can be made to the Diabetes or Kidney Foundation.
