Panneton, Judy

Judy Panneton died very suddenly on August 30th after a lovely dinner with her friends.

Judy loved the Invermere community, especially her life at Lakeview Manor where she was an enthusiastic participant in programs with her friend Ellie. Judy’s greatest passion was reading. She had a degree in Classics from Queen’s University which led to a career in the library and a lifelong love of libraries. She loved all book discussions and was happiest when sharing books with friends. She was also an aspiring poet, belonged to a writers’ collective for many years and had several pieces published.

Judy was kindness itself. She was known for her smile and infectious laugh and her generous spirit. Judy’s daughter Heather (Chris) and her grandchildren Phoebe, Alexis and Elijah were the joy of her life. She was also loved by her sister Libbie (Judi) and brother Doug and her nieces Kate, Emily, Zoe, Rachel, and Andrea, her nephew David and so many friends in Invermere.

Her sudden death has left a huge sadness in all our lives.

There will be no memorial for Judy but please remember her when you next pick up a great book, especially if it’s from the Invermere library.
