Spark, Bessie Mae

Born Bessie Mae Dunseath and grew up on the homestead in Carrot River, Sask. She Married Andy Spark in Rosetown on July 26, 1954. They moved to Calgary and had 3 boys -Douglas, Randall & Wade.

She was a lifeguard at Killarney pool for 30 years. Bessie & Andy were avid hockey parents, CC skiers, & loved to camp/coffee/drink Black Russians with friends and family.

Andy passed away in 2001. Bessie’s health deteriorated after a cardiac event in 2021 until she suffered a stroke on Aug 7, 2023 which took her life, but not her spirit. As she said on many occasions; “I’ve lived a great life and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing!” She is survived by her sister Beatrice (& Dave) and her 3 sons (+ Trevor Gadd) & their families – who all adored Bessie Mae.

If you would like to donate, Bessie supported STARS and the Wildlife Society, or just go play bingo one Sunday afternoon!
