He was a founding partner of Carma Developers and was instrumental in the creation of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program. He was President of the Calgary, Alberta, and Canadian Home Builders Associations, and was the National President of HUDAC.

His love of the Invermere valley began with his honeymoon at Lake Lillian. The Invermere cabin is another of his true legacies. Sixty eight years of family time and memories. His love of the valley has seen several of his family members make it their home.

He strongly believed in community and worked actively at supporting new endeavours like the Calgary Winter Club, the JA Laird climbing wall and Silver Strings ukulele group, the champion Springer Kickers soccer team, and was a board member of the Calgary Philharmonic.

A truly exceptional gentleman.
