Cheers to Town? or Highways? For new road/lane markings in Athamere. Good planning.
Jeers to the ongoing colonial genocide of Canada’s indigenous people and to a racist justice system that failed over 3000 murdered and missing indigenous women and their families and loved ones. It’s an abysmal and shameful history that all Canadians must face up to and accept before this country can move forward on reconciliation.
Cheers to The Natural Home Furniture store! Karen for your help and expertise when selecting our new furniture and fabrics. The room turned out exactly as I imagined – even better! To Graham and his helpers for the smooth stress-free delivery and set up. The Murphy cabinet bed has already been put to good use and declared the best hidden bed ever! Everything is perfect!
Cheers to Cote and Dale from Toril’s Lawncare who took the time to help change my tire after I picked up a piece of metal on the highway. Your kindness was greatly appreciated.
Cheers to the two Julies for coordinating the little league baseball! For getting the teams organized and everyone out having fun playing! Big Cheers to the coaches too!
Cheers to Ole Westergard of WAA Construction for once again coming to our rescue at the ranch. You are a very hard-working man. No task is too much to ask and the end result is perfection. Well done!
Cheers to Trystan. You are a machine. Canada is proud of you, what an amazing effort you put in.
Big CHEERS to the Village of Canal Flats staff and counsel for spending thousands of tax dollars on the “Economic Development Plan!” We especially like the “Gateway Plan” to the south entrance to the Village. It’s too bad you’re not actually serious about implementing your “plan.” Multiple “Sea Cans” used as “opaque screening?” The huge, tin, Quonset type building goes beautifully with “The Plan” as well we see. A bus. an RV, and the most bizarre landscaping we’ve ever laid eyes on…Way to go! You should be proud!!
Jeers to no hare scramble in the valley this year. Such a shame, such a loss to everyone.
Would like to say a big Cheers to Wendy at Rocky Mountain Pet Resort from Edgewater.
I never have to worry about my little dog when she is with you, and you have been so helpful in this stressful and difficult time for the past year, your kindness is very much appreciated!
Jeers to the lady who followed me home to tell me to slow down. You are not a police officer and stalking me to my home is not the right thing to do.
Cheers to the Columbia Valley residents who come to Alberta to do all types of business and shop. We appreciate you.
Jeers to the person or people that are taking down the Columbia Valley Cycling Society Toonie Event posters in town. It is a shame that someone would want to try and limit participation in some fun community events.
Cheers to the DOI for making a fantastic improvement to the traffic lights in Athalmer, awesome idea!
Cheers to the rally car drivers for sharing the Westside road with me on your way to do your thing. Every driver gave me a nice wide comfortable berth while I was doing “my thing” (cycling).
Cheers to Beva at Crazy Soles for her knowledge and help in finding me the perfect runners. Jeers to me for having a foot that was not very accommodating.
Cheers to Kelly and Val for mowing the back forty. The mountain bikers and hikers appreciate the path on the jungle back there!
Cheers to Green Thumb Arnold Malone for your wonderful contribution of annual flowers to Columbia Garden Village and IVY House. Come by for a look soon, Arnold, the potted plants look lovely. A special Cheers to Jim Turner for bringing the plants to us.
Cheers for Canadian Tire store for providing us with a gift certificate for our annual flowers at Columbia Garden Village and IVY House. Appreciation to local businesses who offer support to their senior villages and care homes. Cheers to you, Canadian Tire, who has offered us this benefit for some time.
Cheers to Al Miller for removing fireworks for sale from Home Hardware due to the dry spring conditions and the potential forest fire hazard to all of us who live, work and play in this beautiful valley. Cheers Al for all your leadership.
Cheers to Peter Smith, the past CEO of Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Peter has always been a gentleman, a straight shooter and an active member of our Fairmont community and the larger Columbia Valley community. Cheers for your contributions Peter. You have made our world a better place. Our very best wishes to you in the future.
