Dear Editor:
The third annual Invermere MusicFest (IMF) was held last Saturday at the Kinsmen Beach Greenspace and what a festival it was!
The beautiful sunny day impressed the nine bands from across the country that performed throughout the day and into the evening.
I heard one of the band members say this was his favourite festival and was so impressed by the beauty of the Columbia Valley!
CV Arts and the IMF Committee, which organized the festival, are very pleased with the variety and talent of the musicians, the number of people who attended the Fest, and the overall feel of the event. It really was a perfect day!
The incredible support we received from our local businesses and organizations was a huge factor in the accomplishment of pulling off the third annual Fest.
The other key ingredient in creating this perfect day rests completely on the Fest Committee.
This hardworking, enthusiastic group that loves live music has worked tirelessly towards the success and growth of this festival. I have never worked with a committee that is so respectful of each other.
I would like to recognize, send a hug and thank them for all they did: Ben Cameron, our artistic director and my co-coordinator, Courtney Allen, Al Miller, Claire Crawford, Richard Unger, Kent Shoemaker, Shawn Wernig, Katie Wallace, Mark Topliff and Rae McPherson.
Our successfest will return again next year, so mark your calendars for August 20th and be ready for another perfect day!
Jami Scheffer
