Are you a volunteer? Are you interested in lending your time and talents to a non-profit community initiative? Are you a non-profit looking to recognize your volunteers and empower them to continue doing great work for our community?

We think thats fantastic. Volunteers make this valley strong and vibrant! Thats why a new Alliance is forming to connect non-profits, charities and volunteers more quickly and meaningfully. The inspiring dedication of valley volunteers is also what is leading the charge for the First Annual Columbia Valley Volunteer Appreciation Event.

April 10th to 16th, 2016 is National Volunteer Week, a time to celebrate and thank Canadas millions of volunteers. This year marks the 13th consecutive year that Volunteer Canada and Investors Group have partnered to deliver the National Volunteer Week campaign.

A small group of individuals working in the Columbia Valley non-profit and charitable sector saw National Volunteer Week as a special opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard-working volunteers in our community. On Thursday, April 14th, Pynelogs Cultural Centre and Art Gallery will host the Columbia Valley Volunteer Appreciation Event.

The event will be open to all community volunteers. Volunteers can enjoy live music, appetizers and the opportunity to celebrate with other community volunteers.

The event will also provide an opportunity for non-profits and charities to promote summer and fall volunteer opportunities. Let us help you recognize your groups team of dedicated volunteers. A donation of $40 from organizations will cover small tokens of appreciation distributed to volunteers.

The Columbia Valley Alliance of Volunteer Organizations (CVAVO) will also be unveiling their work to connect non-profits, charities and volunteers in the valley. Dont miss the action!

If your organization is interested in promoting volunteer opportunities through this event and CVAVOs new platform, please contact Laurie Klassen, Executive Director of Columbia Valley Community Foundation at [email protected] or 250-342-2845.

We look forward to seeing you at the First Annual Columbia Valley Volunteer Appreciation Event on April 14th!
