The Columbia Valley is a great place to get hitched. Those who’ve gotten married here gush with enthusiasm. And those thinking of soon tying the knot in the place where glittering lakes meet majestic mountains can learn more about shaping their dream wedding at the first-ever Columbia Valley Wedding Expo.

The expo is on Saturday, March 1 at the Radium Hot Springs Centre, and will feature several dozen vendors from the valley’s wedding industry.

It’s being put on by Travel Columbia Valley and Radium Hot Springs events company Marquee Events. Marquee Events proposed the idea, explained Travel Columbia Valley executive director Jessica Fairhart. “And we thought it was great. We are trying to increase weddings, events and conventions in the Columbia Valley, and this is an excellent way to help that.”

“The vendors are super excited. They think it is something that is needed in the valley,” added Travel Columbia Valley social media and marketing coordinator Weronika Bobka.

The vendors include photographers, caterers, florists, wedding planners, venue representatives, accommodators, deejays, entertainment professionals and more, outlined Fairhart. “Anything you need to plan and to execute a dream wedding, it will be there,” she said.

There will be nearly 30 vendors, and Bobka said they are expecting about 200 attendees, although she was quick to add it could easily be more.

Fairhart said the expo is aimed both at couples getting married here this summer and wanting to iron out the final, last-minute details, as well as for couples planning to say “I do” in 2026 or 2027and still in the early stages of planning.

There will be plenty of inspiration, expert advice, tips on the latest trends, interactive displays, and some giveaways and special offers. Taynton Bay will be serving cocktails, and there will even be a 360 photo booth.

The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
