A ranch owner who was piloting a helicopter died during a crash south of Invermere on July 2. Two passengers were injured and taken to hospital.
Columbia Valley RCMP were notified of the crash at approximately 7 p.m. near Brewer Creek.
“Search and rescue crews were deployed to the area and located the helicopter, and sadly the pilot who was deceased,” said Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson.
Police say the helicopter was privately owned.
Both passengers were found with non-life-threatening injuries.
Grandy said the RCMP is assisting the BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board with the investigation.
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased or further details at this time.
