RCMP in the Columbia Valley is investigating the circumstances surrounding an overnight break and enter and theft from a Canada Post office in the Kootenay’s.

On March 9, 2021, at 7:20 a.m., Columbia Valley RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter to the Radium Hot Springs Canada Post office situated in the 4800-block of Radium Boulevard. Front line RCMP officers attended the scene and confirmed that entry was gained through the front door to the facility sometime overnight.

A forensic specialist with the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS) attended and conducted a full examination of the scene. Investigators have canvassed the surrounding area for video surveillance footage.

At this time police are told that mail items and postage stamps were believed to have been stolen during the break-in. Anyone who suspects an item destined for them was taken is asked to contact Canada Post and/or the original sender.
