In B.C., 1,293 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Thursday, April 8, breaking the single-day record. The Columbia Valley was also affected by a sudden increase in the region. As of the last update, 24 cases had been announced in the Windermere Local Health Area between March 28 and April 3. According to BC Center for Disease Control, 55 persons tested positive from COVID-19 since January 2020.
