Edgewaters Pte. Frederick Ralph Snyder, seen here in military uniform after enlisting in 1941, served as a transport driver for the Canadian Army in England, Belgium, Holland, France and Germany after receiving his basic training in Vernon. He returned home safely on December 19th, 1945. For his role in the war, Mr. Snyder earned the Defense of Britain Medal and a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal.
