The families of three young men who died in a single vehicle collision in Wilmer last summer are urging people to respect the law as court proceedings continue for the accused, Haley Watson.
Watson made no appearance in Invermere court on Monday, Feb. 10, but was represented by her legal counsel. Very little transpired except for the setting of another court date on March 10 for election, and a decision on the presiding judge.
Watson is facing charges of impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death following a motor vehicle accident on Westside Road on July 9, 2024.
The courtroom was reportedly full on Monday as family and friends of the victims sat silently awaiting justice for Brady, Gavin and Jackson.
In a Facebook posting, the families asked the public to respect the proceedings of law.
“Silence speaks volumes, and strength is found in dignity. Let our presence be a reflection of the love we hold for Brady, Gavin, and Jackson — honouring their memory with grace and respect.”
The families added that “justice is not served through chaos, anger or disruption, but through steadfastness and integrity.”
