A collision between an SUV and a vintage truck caused injuries on September 21 at the intersection of Athalmer Road and Lakeview Road.
Columbia Valley RCMP report that the SUV pulled out to turn onto Lakeview Road (coming down the hill) in front of the classic truck. A collision occurred and the truck burst into flames.
Speed did not appear to be a factor, according to police.
The accident occurred on the same day as the “Show and Shine” classic car event in Radium.
Invermere Fire Chief Jason Row told the Pioneer that they responded for an “extrication” because it was reported that someone was possibly trapped in one of the vehicles. However, RCMP Sgt. Ed deJong said nobody had to be extricated, and only minor injuries resulted.
