What a wonderful Whiteway weekend! We are so pleased to have all-terrain trails available on the Lake Windermere Whiteway, including skating, walking/running, skate and classic skiing! It was a busy weekend down at Kinsmen Beach with plenty of families, friends and dogs taking advantage of the wonderful activities the Whiteway has to offer. Additionally, we are pleased to announce a successful second week for the new extension of the Columbia River Cafe at Kinsmen Beach. While enjoying activities on the Lake Windermere Whiteway, you can now enjoy hot drinks, snacks or a new superfood donut by Alpen Glow Donuts! Now open weekends and holidays 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
We are still accepting registrations for the 2021 Virtual Whiteway Winter Challenge! As of Jan. 25, we have 15 individuals and 14 teams making up a total of 76 participants, challenging themselves to reach a goal distance on the Whiteway. The combined goal distance currently sits at 5969 km! That’s the same distance as Invermere, B.C. to Guatemala! There are prizes available for the top three teams and top three individuals with the furthest distance accomplished at the end of the Challenge.
