The Radium Village Arts & Culture Society is starting 2024 off with much optimism after being awarded an $800,000 grant for its ‘dream project’ known as Woodcarver Park.

The grant from the Province of BC Destination Development Fund will help the Society commemorate legendary Radium woodcarver Rolf Heer who brought the iconic “Home of a Thousand Faces” to the village.

We are eager to create a haven where locals and visitors alike can immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings and pay tribute to Rolf Heer’s legacy,” the Society says.

The dedication will see the preservation of Radium’s cultural heritage while inspiring creativity and fostering a sense of community.

The conceptional plan includes a two-storey treehouse with an overlook, a picnic venue, an adventure play area, and a ‘river’ of logs to promote interaction with nature.
